what is local insights?

Local Insights is a social enterprise designed specifically to connect travelers and locals for cultural encounters that are deeper than a guidebook.

Through our innovative program, we partner with existing non-profits and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to offer cultural and storytelling courses to their clients.  We work with local tourism bureaus and travel operators to ensure that our locals are featured as a supplement to the typical packaged tour.

Finally, we connect travelers with the trained locals through our website for cultural encounters that financially benefit local people directly, while also supporting employment for marginalized and at-need communities.

Travelers search our platform for Locals interested in sharing insights about the local area.

connect

The Traveler and Local connect through our secure platform to determine a meeting place and time.

spend for good

Travelers Spend for Good by paying a fee to confirm the encounter.  After a successful encounter, the Local receives payment from us.

enjoy & learn

The Traveler and Local meet to enjoy learning from each other and hopefully developing a lasting friendship.
